自由州大学是南非历史最悠久的一所大学，建于1904年，因其学术成就和校园文化的多样性而闻名于世界，每年吸引来自南非及世界各地的学生入读自由州大学，学校现有学生21,000人,位于南非司法首都布隆方丹市。
